Lovely place a shame about the rude staff on the campsite, don't go there if you want to have a relaxing time, was threatened with been thrown off, "now or in the morning" At 40 years old I was discussed at being spoken to in such a manner We pitched up out of the wind away from anyone and at 9 pm was accused of driving on the grass?? We put our fire out at 11 as requested 5 minutes later staff came down with buckets of water throwing them on the wet fire box and more rude comment were made to us,it was raining sideways, which seemed quite amusing It would appear they don't want to have people camp at there campsite
Didn't like the atmosphere there.... I was showering in the darkness because the light went off just after 5 min , staff was just outside taking, didn't do anything about it. Expensive... much better in the" Quiet site "
Probably the best campsite location in the Lake District, bar none! The 360 views are spectacular. Whilst there is not perfect darkness, what little lighting there is does not spoil the glorious night sky. Once your tum starts to rumble after a day in the fells, there is no better place to refuel than the Brother's Water Inn, immediately adjacent, but uphill - please leave table 6 vacant for us.
Was here for a birthday weekend. It's situated in the middle of a valley so you're surrounded by hills on all sides and the view is great.We stopped in the Bunkhouse and the price is very modest, you can also camp as well as stop in their B&B.We're already thinking about going back!
This place is great for immediate access to the fells. Flat pitches with electric hook up. Showers and toilets are clean and tidy. Great food serving large portion right next to the site. The food is also great value. Very friendly and helpful staff. The site is great value for money. Highly recommended.
