Great selection of beef ice cream in the fridge and a welcome refreshment stop on long lake district runs.
Nice campsite with a great view and a good location where we stayed for a weekend in August. It was very crowded and tents and cars were all over the place. Quite hilly terrain so it was difficult to find a good spot for our tent and car. Probably would have loved this place if only half the people were there.
What a beautiful campsite! The field is beautiful and there are some really cool spots to pitch your tent. The staff is also lovely! If you decide to stay here, don't forget to check out the tearoom. They serve homemade baked goods, and their millionaires shortbread is the best I've ever had!Sadly enough, there is no power or WiFi on site, but that's not the end of the world.Facilities are quite dirty, in a old concrete room. They do however get cleaned every day
Lovely, helpful owner in the most picturesque location. Toilet and shower facilities are a bit basic but cleaned well each night. Washing up sinks are good, clothes washing and drying machines are great. The downside is that it is popular so can be a bit noisy and most of the area is sloped.
A little slopey but some good spots dotted about. The car track up to it is quite rough but our mini manages fine every time. Popular with larger groups in peak times so can get noisy, but overall, incredible views and the MOST helpful owner possibly. Very sweet lady and lovely tea shop too.
